Judson Beaumont, AOD

British Columbia furniture designer Judson Beaumont has been creating whimsical, imaginative and masterful furniture pieces for 29 years. Inspired by kids and their liberal acceptance of the bizarre, Judson’s work is bold, colourful, expressive and functional. Judson graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 1985 and then founded Straight Line Designs Inc. His company has completed unique design projects and installations throughout North America and around the world including pieces for children’s hospitals, museums, libraries, Disney Cruise ships and various exhibitions.

John D'Eathe

We honour John D’Eathe for his continuous community leadership over the past 45 years. John’s expertise in business, urban land economics and real estate has made a difference to many lower mainland organizations. From the United Nations Habitat Conference in 1976  through to the 2012 Mayor’s Task Force for Affordable Housing, the Foundations of the Justice Institute of BC and The Arts Club Theater, and the Chesterfield House Society, John’s influence has been pivotal. He also served as a mentor, instructor and supporter for UBC’s Sauder School of Business and is currently a member of its Urban Land Economics Advisory Board. John is passionate for his community and for his Province.

Donald Lindsay

Don Lindsay has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to supporting British Columbia communities. He led the BC Children 's Hospital Foundation's successful $200-million capital campaign to build a new acute care hospital, the largest healthcare not-for-profit initiative ever undertaken in the Province. As President and CEO of Teck Resources Limited, Don has championed many other important causes including BCIT, St. Paul's Hospital, the University of British Columbia and the Vancouver Aquarium.

Jim Barnum

A lifelong skateboarder, Jim Barnum has developed an internationally renowned skatepark design practice with over 150 projects in Canada, France, UK, Israel, USA, China and Taiwan. He is a leader in the field of Skate sculpture, where unique and unusual forms challenge the skateboarder’s mind, body and imagination. Jim has received awards from the International Olympic Committee, the Canadian Parks and Recreation Association and the SkatePark Association of the USA.

Allan De Genova

These are just a few words that describe Allan De Genova: visionary<, tenacious, creative, and responsive. We honour Allan today for all of these qualities. A five-term Vancouver Park Board Commissioner, Allan made a difference. Saving Nat Bailey Stadium, advocating for affordable housing, restoring Victory Square, and rebuilding Sunset Community Centre are just a few of his initiatives for the City of Vancouver. His proudest achievement, however, is the dream he fulfilled to open Honour House, a temporary home away from home for Canadian Forces personnel, veterans, First responders and their families who are receiving medical care and treatment in the metro Vancouver area. Allan has shown remarkable leadership and his legacies will be felt for generations to come.

Gordon Marks

Since 1998, Gordon Marks has volunteered and grown the sport of Powerchair Football, also known as Powersoccer. The sport is played by individuals in power wheelchairs and parallels the outdoor game of soccer. Coach, referee, development trainer, administrator, board member and fundraiser, Gordon's extraordinary commitment has led to the success of Powerchair Football in British Columbia.

Marie Khouri

A 10 year resident of British Columbia, Khouri’s furniture design is both sculptural and functional; a blend of art and design. It represents the cultural and historical influences of the countries in which she has lived: Egypt, Lebanon, Paris, Spain and Italy. Artistically she has been influenced by Henry Moore and the Bauhaus School. Khouri has exhibited in New York, Paris, London and Tokyo has completed public art commissions in the United States and Asia. In 2012, Western Living Magazine named Khouri its Industrial Designer of the Year.
