For over 20 years Roland Brown has diligently worked as an environmental steward in his community. Using his personal skills and resources in cooperation with numerous organizations, Roland has identified, developed, and helped maintain Duncan’s diverse environment.

Brian Northup

Brian Northup has spent 23 years as town Councilor, Mayor and humanitarian in his community of Smithers. His honest, compassionate leadership produced many municipal improvements. Brian has also volunteered with the North BC Winter Games, the Bulkley Valley 2010 Olympic Opportunity Committee and the Regional District Hospital Board.

Philip Pak-Yuen Chan

Philip Chan Pak-Yuen founded a non-profit Tai Chi organization to promote health and well being for his community in Vancouver. Philip raises thousands of dollars for charitable organizations such as SUCCESS and the Chinese Cultural Centre.

Deborah Palmer

As the Principal of Elphinstone Secondary School, Deborah Palmer has created an environment that encourages respect and fairness for all staff and students. Deborah has initiated programs to build leadership skills, produce collaborative solutions and ultimately strengthen the ties between the youth and community of Gibsons.

Dr. Geoffrey Cowburn

Dr. Cowburn has dedicated over 35 years to the isolated community of McBride, often as the only doctor available for patients requiring anything from prescriptions to emergency surgery. A testament to his dedication, Dr. Cowburn even restored a Tiger Moth airplane to use for critical house calls to patients living in remote areas.

Bud Sakamoto

Bud Sakamoto is a founding member of the Steveston Historical Society which spearheaded the creation of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society. Due to Bud’s dedication the Cannery is now a historical site attracting 30,000 people annually, ensuring BC’s rich fishing heritage is preserved for future generations.

Uultsje De Jong

Uultsje de Jong works with numerous organizations to provide improved support systems and services for Abbotsford. His involvement spans organizations such as the Crime and Drug Prevention Coalition, Victim Services and the Community Health Advisory Committee, where he helps create a stronger safety net for disadvantaged citizens.

Barry Scott

Barry Scott is the Principal and Director of Maynards Industries Ltd. For over 20 years Barry has used his auctioneer skills to help raise millions of dollars for hundreds of Vancouver’s arts, culture, health and education organizations.

Robert Dennis

Robert Dennis is Chief of the Huu-ay-aht First Nations in Bamfield. Through his perseverance and vision, this community has radically changed its situation. Today they have stronger ties to their cultural roots, long-term sustainable job and business opportunities, plus community pride that creates a solid foundation for future growth.

Bob Scott

Bob Scott launched Scott’s Family Gardeners to provide employment for ex-addicts and parolees in the Prince George area. Bob was instrumental in establishing the Drug Awareness and Recovery Team Society that offers services and assistance to help recovering addicts integrate as full participants in the community.
