Philip Marchand, Vicki Gabereau and Andreas Schroeder

Philip Marchand started his career as a freelance magazine writer, and then became books columnist for the Toronto Star for 19 years. Since 2008 he has written a regular book review column for the National Post. Philip has also written five books including a biography entitled Marshall McLuhan: The Medium and the Messenger, a collection of essays entitled Ripostes: Reflections on Canadian Literature and a combination of memoir, history, and travelogue entitled Ghost Empire: How the French Almost Conquered North America.

Vicki Gabereau is an award-winning radio and television interviewer, and the former host of Gabereau on CBC and Gabereau Live! on CTV. She is the author of a memoir, This Won't Hurt a Bit. Ms. Gabereau was inducted into the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2006, and received a Lifetime Achievement award from the RTNDA Canada in 2008.

Andreas Schroeder, author, TV and radio host, and academic. Mr. Schroeder has written some 20 books, published in most of Canada's major newspapers, been a TV and radio host, and served as a long-time contributor to CBC radio's Basic Black. He holds the Rogers Communications Chair in Creative Non Fiction at UBC. His latest book is the autobiographical novel Renovating Heaven.
