Jean Barman
Jean Barman is a multiple prize-winning author who has published extensively on Canadian history. Her best-selling The West beyond the West: A History of British Columbia, is forthcoming in May 2007 in a third edition.
She is professor emeritus at the University of British Columbia and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
David Mitchell
David Mitchell's career spans both the public and private sectors.
Currently Vice-President of University Relations at the University of Ottawa, he is a well-known political commentator and historian, and he has also been a business executive and a member of the British Columbia legislature.
David's published works include the biography: W.A.C. Bennett and the Rise of British Columbia. Please welcome David Mitchell.
Max Wyman
Jury Chair Max Wyman is one of Canada's leading cultural commentators. Max is the author of The Defiant Imagination: Why Culture Matters, and he lectures and consults widely on public arts policy. A former member of the board of the Canada Council for the Arts and President of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.
Max is an Officer of the Order of Canada, not to mention, of course, the Mayor of Lions Bay.
