Privacy Policy

The British Columbia Achievement Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of people through responsible management of information received.

The Foundation collects personal information including contact, biographical information and residency status for the sole purpose of assessing suitability for awards.

Personal information is provided by the nominator or applicant with the nomination or applicant papers. The Foundation considers that it has the implied consent of the nominee, through the nominator, for the collection, use and disclosure of information voluntarily submitted to the Foundation by the nominator. In accordance with the nomination process, the nominator and reference information will remain confidential from the nominee. However, a nominee may request in writing to review other information submitted to the Foundation, such as the nomination form.

All applications or nominations are reviewed in confidence. Information is disclosed in the peer review and council assessment process only for the purpose of considering the nominee or applicant for appropriate honours or awards. Nominees or applicants will not be able to obtain information concerning deliberations of peer reviewers, assessment panels and advisory councils.

The Foundation uses reasonable security safeguards to protect personal information against risks.
